Liberian Foreign Minister, Sara Beysolow Nyanti has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Ghanaian Ambassador to Liberia, Kingsford Amoako, for Ghana’s unwavering support to the Government and people of Liberia.
Foreign Minister Nyanti praised Ambassador Amoako for his significant contributions to strengthening the longstanding bilateral and historic ties between the two sister nations.
Foreign Minister Nyanti made these remarks on Friday, November 1, 2024 during a farewell courtesy call by Ambassador Amoako at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which included bilateral discussions.
Speaking on behalf of the Government, Foreign Minister Nyanti conveyed President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.’s sincere appreciation and best wishes for the Ambassador’s successful tenure in Liberia.
She highlighted Ghana’s pivotal role in the recent repatriation of over 1,500 Liberians from Ghana and in promoting stability and peace within the sub-region.
Reflecting on the historical bonds between the two countries, the Dean of the Cabinet acknowledged Ghana’s critical support during Liberia’s civil conflict, when thousands of Liberians sought refuge there.
She noted that Ambassador Amoako’s departure comes at a time when Liberia celebrates years of sustained peace and stability, a testament to the sacrifices of African allies, including Ghana.
Ambassador Amoako expressed his gratitude to Foreign Minister Nyanti for the warm reception and the strong bilateral cooperation he experienced during his tenure.
“My task is over, and I will be returning home,” he stated, describing his time in Liberia as fulfilling and marked by productive partnerships.
He extended his appreciation for the collaboration that facilitated his diplomatic mission, noting, “I wish to express thanks for all the support that made my work smooth in Liberia.
As is customary in diplomatic practice, Ambassador Amoako formally informed Foreign Minister Nyanti of his departure, highlighting the achievements and memorable interactions he enjoyed with key officials and personalities during his service in Liberia.
