Former Liberian Leader, George Weah on Tuesday morning held a strategic mediation meeting with members of a high level ECOWAS Delegation currently in Liberia.
Held at his Jamaica resort office, Former President Weah welcome and thanked the ECOWAS Delegation for its initiative geared towards amicably addressing the long standing political and leadership crisis at the House of Representatives.
Flanked by past officials of the Weah’s government to include, Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah Sr, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nathaniel Mcgill, Former Minister of State and now Margibi County Senator, Mawime Diggs, Former Commerce Minister and Amb. Nora Finda Bundoo, Former Chief of Protocol at the Executive Mansion, Weah reemphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law for Liberia’s advancement including good governance practices.
During the meeting, the Peace Ambassador also used the ocassion to register his dissatisfaction with some lawmakers’ actions that defy democratic principles.
The latest visit of the ECOWAS Delegation to Liberia marks the second of its kind since the crisis begun as political actors are of the conviction that the latest intervention this time around by ECOWAS will yield fruitful results in order to finally laid to rest the National situation on Capitol Hill.
