Grand Bassa County former Project Management Committee (PMC) presented a detailed report to Representative Clarence T. Banks on Wednesday, highlighting a series of stalled development projects that have remained uncompleted since 2018.
The presentation took place during a county caucus setting in Monrovia, where concerns were raised regarding the execution of key initiatives taken by the former representative.
Moses G. Henry, the former PMC Chairman, led the report addressing five major projects that have yet to be finalized, a situation that has been a point of contention within the community. These projects, which were initially aimed at improving infrastructure and public health in Grand Bassa County, include:
a. Bridge in Blagbhn – $117,970.20 USD
BBA Bridge in St. John – $130,001.44 USD;
b. Bridge in Diahn – $322,559.83 USD
c. Clinic Construction in Boglay – $129,889.88 USD
d. Market Development in Yeablo District #2 Compound – $49,348.13 USD
Henry openly acknowledged during the meeting that these essential projects, vital for the community’s development, have languished unfinished for the past six years under the administration of the previous representative.
Rep. Banks, who convened the caucus, expressed his disappointment over the delays and sought clarity regarding the reasons behind the halt in progress for these important initiatives. Community members had raised concerns over unmet promises and the diminishing trust in their local governance.
The former PMC’s timing for this report coincides with ongoing efforts to renew commitment to completing projects that directly impact the lives of residents in Grand Bassa County.
