Monrovia- August 19, 2024: As Liberia and other countries around the Globe grapple with the current state of the economy, there is no doubt that the availability of impactful institutions would help to ease some of the financial constraints citizens are faced with, especially youths. One of the institutions that is making this a reality is the PROGRESSIVE YOUTH INITIATIVE FOR CHANGE (PYIFC), a Liberian-owned and operated Nonprofit Organization -NGO through its arrow head Mr. Thomas Papaye Cooper.
In Recognition of his tireless efforts to Humanity, The Independent Media Association of Liberia(IMAOL) over the weekend honored the chief Executive Officer of the PROGRESSIVE YOUTH INITIATIVE FOR CHANGE (PYIFC), Thomas Paypaye Cooper for his enormous service to youth capacity-building and advocacy for women and Girls rights across Liberia.
Speaking on behalf of the association on Saturday, August 17, 2024 in Gardnersville, the Vice president of the Independent Media Association of Liberia, Mac Eric Garmoyou Freeman acknowledged the pivotal role that Mr. Cooper has played in the lives of ordinary Liberians mainly less Privellage kids. He has aided over 100 parents yearly by paying their Children’s school fees and also providing School Materials for them.
According to him, their pick of honoring Mr. Cooper was based on his Selfless Commitment to youth capacity building and advocacy for women and Girls’ Rights across Liberia.
He Furthered, Mr. Cooper’s indelible role to humanity and the up-liftment of Liberia has landed him the “best young performing diaspora male Liberian humanitarian” of 2023/2024.
“Our selection of Mr. Cooper was based on his tireless workings over the years to humanity, healthcare, youth, and women & Girls empowerment, which has made us proud to honor him today for all he has done over the years by serving humanity,” Freeman said.
In remarks, the honoree, Speaking via mobile phone, lauded the group for its farsightedness and further assured his willingness to continue working to improve the lives of others.
“We are interested in serving our people to improve healthcare delivery, youth capacity development, women and Girls empowerment, and the Back to-school program for the kids. I am excited to know that over the years our hard work was closely followed by the Liberian media and today we are receiving an award for our work. My team and I say thanks to IMAOL for recognizing our work and we Pray for unity among all Liberians,” Mr. Cooper added.
