MONROVIA, LIBERIA: Over 1,500 physically challenged persons from across Montserrado’s 17 districts, on Thursday, July 31, 2025 benefited from a donation of rice and oil from Orange Liberia, through its foundation.
Orange Foundation post Independence celebrations witnessed the company distributing over 1,500 bags of 25kg rice and oil to over 1,500 persons living with disability in montserrado.
Remarking during the exercise at Orange Digital Center in Congo Town, Mrs. Lovetta Qualah, Project Manager of Orange Foundation said, the distribution was the foundation’s post Independence celebration designed to provide for people living with disability.
Mrs. Qualah furthered, the company feels glad to identify with the community of disable and expressed optimism that such exercise would not be the end – as Orange is here to stay.
Also speaking during the distribution exercises, one of the leaders of the disabled community in montserrado, praised Orange foundation for the gesture while encouraging other institutions to emulate the good example of the company.
“Let me express my heartfelt gratitude to Orange foundation for the worthy cause and plea with others to join them in caring for people living with disability.
Meanwhile, the beneficiaries thanked the company for the gesture – terming it as timely.
Zayzay Roberts, stressed the need for empowerment of the disability instead of just providing food for them.
“Thanks to Orange foundation for the timely distribution, but I also want to ask them to empower us. Not only the food we need, we also need empowerment so that we can contribute to nation building”, he said.
The day which was seen as a joyful moment, put smiles on the faces of the physically challenged and their immediate families.
