In the wake of the internet revolution, the Administrative Coordinator of the Monrovia Business School Samuel James Kpartor has underscored the compelling need for effective capacity development among the young people.
Kpartor said as the world is rapidly envolving especially in the digital space, the need for digital security awareness is key.
“The threat and evolution of artificial intelligence is becoming more prevalent and it is time to get more prepared to work in addressing it by building our young people capacity”, he re-emphasized.
According to him, for Liberia to face such Cyber Security threat which many people are not knowledgeable about, it is paramount to build the skills of Liberians especially in digital Security training and awareness something, the Monrovia Business School, he pointed out has embarked upon.
Mr. Kpartor speaking to reporters following the end of the second batch of training maintained that innovation and creativity among the young people in the digital space is needed more than ever before.
The two days intensive and more technical training which brought together over twenty people from youth led organizations, civil society and the media help enhanced the skills of the participants in the basic and fundamental aspects of digital Security threats as well as other related techniques among others.
“We at MBS are always excited and thrilled to provide essential knowledge to our young people including the general population of the Country and we remain committed to such”,he added.
The Monrovia Business School Administrative Coordinator who commended the young people for their active participations and engagements during the training also encourage them to utilize the training for the benefit of the larger society.
Also speaking at the end of the training was the President of the Federation of Liberian Youth Banica Elliott who appreciated the Monrovia Business School for helping to build the capacity of the young people especially in digital Security awareness.
According to her, the training is timely and meaningful for the future leaders of Liberia.
Ms. Elliott at the same time called on the young people to use the skills giving them to improve their daily operations.
” The act of acquiring these skills is key ad it will prepare you for the future “, the FLY’s President further told her members.
Additionally, she indicated that technology is now driving every sector as such it is important for the young people to utilize every necessary opportunity in order to be prepared for the job market.
In a happy mood the over twenty participants hailed the Monrovia Business School for the training and promise to make maximun used of them.
Meanwhile, the training marked the second of its kind.
It can be recalled that the Monrovia Business School earlier this year organized its first digital Security awareness training for national security officers to include, The Liberia National Police, the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency, the Liberia National Fire Service Agency, The Monrovia City Police, The Liberia National Commission on Arms, The Ministry of Justice among others.
