LLA Bong’s Office Hosts Historic Year-End Program,  Honors Dedicated Staff and Volunteers

In a ground-breaking ceremony that reflects a renewed commitment to community engagement and recognition, the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) Bong County Office today held its first year-end program in many years, celebrating both employees and volunteers for their commitment  to effective land management. The event, presided over Bong LAA Administrator, Miss Amelia D. Cassell, has marked a significant turning point for the local office, which has been striving to enhance its relationship with the Bong community.

The year-end program, held at the LLA office in Gbarnga, drew a diverse crowd of local citizens, LLA staff, and stakeholders, united in their appreciation for the transformative efforts undertaken by the office.

“Today, we stand together to not only celebrate our achievements but also to reaffirm our commitment to the people of Bong County,” Miss Cassell stated in her keynote address. “For too long, the voices of our citizens went unheard, and land issues remained unresolved. Our administration is dedicated to turning the tide, ensuring transparency and equity in land matters.

Under Miss Cassell’s leadership, there have been considerable advancements in the way land issues are approached and resolved, leading to heightened local trust and satisfaction.

Many attendees expressed their gratitude, highlighting the collaborative spirit fostered by the LLA under her guidance. Local community leaders have noted a significant reduction in land disputes and a more organized framework for resolving issues, which were often clouded by bureaucracy and miscommunication in the past.

Madam Esther Tormue, representative of the Liberia Marketing Association and a notable figure at the event, shared her perspective on the recent changes. “As an association, we had over the past faced numerous challenges regarding land access and ownership,” she revealed. “However, since Amelia D. Cassell took office, we have experienced a notable shift towards resolution. Land cases that once took months or years to address are being handled with  efficiency. I am glad to be here today to support this initiative and commend her work.”

During the celebration, several employees and volunteers were honored for their dedication, hard work, and contributions to the LLA’s mission. Awards were presented to those who exemplified outstanding service in various capacities, generating cheers and applause from the audience. The program not only recognized individual accomplishments but also inspired unity among the staff, emphasizing that every role is crucial to achieving the overarching goals of the LLA.

“I believe that every staff member, employee, and volunteer plays a pivotal role in our success,” Miss Cassell emphasized. “This acknowledgment is not just a reflection of individual effort; it symbolizes our shared commitment to transforming land administration and continuing to build trust with our citizens.”

The year-end event has further solidified the relationship between the LLA and the community, paving the way for future initiatives aimed at public education and engagement on land matters. As Miss Cassell concluded the program, she called for continued collaboration: “Together, we can make substantial advances in addressing land issues for the betterment of our communities. I urge all of us to remain engaged and proactive.”

The program ended with a sport encounter between the Bong County Media and the LLA’s local office.
The Media was defeated 1:0 by the LLA.

As the LLA Bong County Office looks ahead, the success of their celebration signals a new era of accountability and service, with hopes that such gatherings will become an annual tradition, ensuring that both staff and community voices are continuously heard and celebrated.
