The third edition of the Women’s Summit commenced at the Hyatt Regency Casablanca, running from June 18-19, 2025.
Under the presidency of Princess Lalla Meryem, the landmark event unites women leaders and changemakers from the Kingdom of Morocco, across the African continent, and spanning regions including Canada and the United States.
Among the distinguished attendees is Liberia’s Second Lady, Snyleseh Stephenie Dahn Koung, who currently serves as the Executive Director of the Group of 77 in Liberia.
Invited by the Startup Grow Foundation, Madam Dahn Koung will contribute as a Guest Speaker and Panelist, engaging in vital conversations around innovation, sustainable development, and the economic empowerment of women.
On the sidelines of the summit, Raymond Zarbay, Senior Technical Assistant, reported that Madam Dahn Koung and her team have been actively participating in strategic meetings and discussions aimed at enhancing collaboration and support.
As part of the side lines meetings, The Liberian Second Lady met with Ghizlane Benjelloun at the National Observatory for the Rights of Children in Rabat, Morocco, where they discussed collaborative initiatives to promote the rights and safety of children in both Morocco and Liberia,
“This includes a focus on ensuring the well-being of children with disabilities”, she added.
At the same time, madam Dahn Koung had a productive meeting with the Mayor of Casablanca, Nabila Rmili, to discuss strategies for empowering women, particularly those with disabilities, to make meaningful contributions to their societies in both Liberia and Morocco.
Among other things, The importance of the gathering resonates with the legacy of Liberia’s former President William R. Tolbert, who, motivated by his experiences in Asia, championed the cause of inclusivity and social justice by establishing the Group of 77 in 1977.
The national social welfare program focuses on supporting persons with disabilities and operates under the Vice President’s Office, traditionally led by the Vice President’s spouse or a designated representative.
The Women’s Summit 2025 promises to be a vital platform for exchanging ideas, fostering collaboration, and advocating for the social rights of women and children, setting the stage for impactful changes across nations.
