For many years, public corporations providing basic services to the Public have complaint about entities of government not paying bills for services provided them. Corporations including the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) and the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) have all suffered from these acts from public institutions.
In the wake of these constant complaints, from the LEC and LWSC that government entities are refusing to fund bills they owe these corporations, Senate Pro Temp Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence has written the LEC`s management to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the electricity load requirements of the Liberian Senate.
This is part of her leadership commitment to lead by example and ensure an efficient and uninterrupted functioning of the Senate. In a communication to the LEC management, Pro Tempore Karnga Lawrence  ask Mr. Monie Captan to assign his engineers at the Senate as it has become imperative to evaluate the senate current electrical infrastructure.According to the President Pro Tempore, such assessment is very crucial for identifying potential areas of improvement and ensuring that the facilities of the Liberian Senate are adequately equipped to handle the demands of their daily operations.
Madam Lawrence believes that the expertise and technical proficiency of the LEC`S team are ideally suited to carry out such assessment.The scope of the evaluation of the electricity load of the Liberian Senate is expected to include; but not limited to reviewing of the existing electrical systems and infrastructure, identifying potential load imbalances and areas of high energy consumption, recommending upgrades or modification to enhance efficiency and reliability and provide a detail report with billing information to enable the senate budget accordingly.
Pro Tempore Karnga Lawrence also said, such assessment could be done at the earliest convenience of the LEC, at the same time, reminded the LEC`s management on the importance of its cooperation with optimism that the assessment when concluded, will significantly contribute to the operational efficiency of the Liberian Senate.
