InfoQuest Liberia has termed as unacceptable, the alarming and exodus wave of removal of Liberians from the Civil Service payrolls without a justifiable cause.

According to the Executive Director Matthias Yeanay, InfoQuest Liberia believes that the ongoing cleaning up process by the Civil Service Agency is more party driven than been holistic.

” We Don’t only condemned this action by the government in the strongest term but also warned the government to desist from such ugly act which has the propensity to undermine the peace of the Country”, Mr. Yeanay blasted.

He said the action by the current government is a repeat of what happened during the past administration headed by former President George Weah which InfoQuest condemned and we will again not hesitate to condemn this repeated and unwarranted action.

“We encourage this government to be sensitive to the current reality in the Country especially with hardship and unemployment rate on the increase across the Country”, he added.

Mr. Yeanay at the same time challenged the Unity Party led government to engage in activities that will jealously protect and maintain the peace of the Country and not to be involved into practices that will hamper the peace thereby endangering the lives of the ordinary people.

It can be recalled that Precious Boiley was dismissed at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection for criticizing former President weah on the social media something that also led to the dismissal of Henry Sarlie at the Monrovia City Corporation.

The dismissal letter currently circulating on the social media among other things stated that Henry Sarlie was dismissed for his consistent and deliberate action portrayed on social media by enraging insults at President Joseph Nyuma Boakai including officials of government when in fact, he is a social worker under the same government, this InfoQuest Liberia described as unacceptable and unfair.

The Civil Society group pointed out that gone are the days when people will be silent from speaking their minds, let the people be free at all times to express themselves despite where they work, there is no room and time for such in this current government especially in the 21st century respectively, Matthias maintained.

He told reporters that the current government has promised to rescue the people and to give them a new redemption but InfoQuest believes that the current act in less than a year is far from its plan promise as such, we remind them to live and lead by what they say.

Speaking on the issue of drugs , InfoQuest Liberia observed that the government is gradually losing the war on drugs fight which they aggressively started at the early stage of their administration.

Mr. Yeanay stressed that unlike before, there is little or no information on the fight against drugs by the government and we think that initial statements by the government and stakeholders were more political and the reality on the ground.

“We call on the government to be more practical and robust in the fight against drugs rather than been political,
There is no time for late service in the fight against drugs especially when our young people are falling prey on the daily basis”, The InfoQuest Head noted.

He encouraged the government to do more in the fight against drugs by providing adequate support to the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency and other relevant agencies of government in order to battle the manance from The society.

Additionally, we call on the government to make public the investigative report at the LDEA’s recent leadership saga and to take the necessary action if they mean well to fight drugs holistically.

“It is time for concerted efforts and united front involving all actors and stakeholders including Civil Society in order to battle and subsequently win the war against drugs in Liberia”, he added.
