Monrovia, Liberia – The Hope of Million Project, a Liberia-based nonprofit organization operating from the United States, has made a major humanitarian donation valued at nearly 200,000 US dollars to support school-going children, orphanages, and people living with disabilities across Liberia.

Aryea Kokubah, Chief Executive Officer of the Hope of Million Project, shared the organization’s journey and vision for Liberia’s future in an terview with KM TV Liberia Kokubah engagement marking the arrival of the latest shipment of supplies.

The organization was officially launched in 2024, although Kokubah’s humanitarian efforts began during the Ebola crisis in Liberia. The project focuses on supporting orphanages, schools, and underserved communities while partnering with existing nonprofit organizations. Since its formal establishment, the organization has executed more than 22 outreach programs nationwide and raised over 320,000 US dollars in donations to fund community outreach initiatives and workshops across the country.

Items Distributed

The current shipment includes footwear, computers, clothing, rice, food supplies, and educational materials. Since November, the organization has visited multiple orphanages, youth centers, and community-based institutions throughout Liberia.

Close to 15 nonprofit organizations, orphanages, and learning centers are expected to benefit directly from this latest donation. In addition to institutional support, the project plans to extend assistance directly to children within surrounding communities. It is estimated that more than 20,000 individuals nationwide will benefit from the initiative.

To date, the project has mobilized over 60 million Liberian Dollars, approximately 320,000 US dollars, in humanitarian support between 2024 and 2026, reflecting a growing commitment to measurable, community-driven impact.

Challenge

Despite its expansion and positive impact, the organization continues to face operational challenges, particularly in shipping logistics and customs clearance. As the project increasingly imports humanitarian supplies, it has experienced financial losses due to duty charges and limited access to clear information from relevant offices. Leadership is calling on government authorities to provide duty-free consideration for charitable shipments intended strictly for vulnerable communities.

Long-Term Vision

The long-term goal of the Hope of Million Project is to establish its permanent headquarters in Liberia and eventually expand operations across West Africa, with Liberia serving as the central hub for regional outreach.

Kokubah’s inspiration is rooted in personal experience. Born in Liberia during the civil war and raised as an orphan, she witnessed firsthand the hardships faced by many children. After surviving displacement from Lofa County to Monrovia during the conflict, she remained committed to returning one day to support her community. Influenced by her mother’s missionary work, she has dedicated her life to humanitarian service and educational empowerment.

Donation Declaration Ceremony

Under the theme Educating Children, Serving Communities, Strengthening Liberia’s Future, the Hope of Million Project, with Grace to Prosper in Purpose, will host a Donation Declaration Ceremony commemorating the successful arrival and release of humanitarian and educational supplies dedicated to schools, orphans, and underserved communities across Liberia.

The initiative marks a significant step toward improving access to education, strengthening community support systems, and advancing sustainable development for vulnerable populations nationwide.
