Marshall City: It was a saddening mood during the afternoon hours of June 6, 2023, when a 12 years old girl only identify as Shelly met her Early death as a result of a falling palm tree along the Marshall highway in a town called Kpan’s.
According to eyewitnesses and other family members, little Shelly along with her siblings followed a contractor who had gone to Kpan’s Town to construct a house for an individual who is yet to be identified.
However, eyewitnesses noted that the contractor was residing in the little Shelly family house in KPAN’S Town.
They further asserted that he (the contractor) decided to get into the bush for palm in order to have their daily meal prepared, noting that While cutting the palm tree, the late Shelly along with her siblings were standing away from the tree indicating that the palm tree fell at the direction of little Shelly that resulted into her untimely demise.
Meanwhile, upon the occurrence of the incident, the suspect escaped to an unknown location, according to the Liberia National Police.
When contacted Margibi County police commander said he is working up modalities in making sure that the suspect is being brought to book. He assured family members of the family of little Shelly that everything will be at normality.
At the same time, family members of little Shelly called on the Liberian National Police for a speedy investigation regarding the death of their daughter.
A falling palm tree resulted in the death of little Shelly.
