KMTV just obtained a copy of the writ of arrest which took former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott and three others before the Monrovia City Court Thursday, on charges of murder, criminal conspiracy and false reports to Law Enforcement Officials.
“In violation of section 14.1, 10.4 & 12.33 of the new penal law of Liberia, the Ministry of Justice appears before this honorable court on the 22nd day of June 2023 and complains on oath of the within named defendant of Lower Virginia, Montserrado County, Republic of Liberia and says that on the 22nd of February, 2023 the Defendants did there and then by means of sharp instrument believed to be a knife, collude, collectively and conspired to stab victim Charloe Musu multiple times resulting to her untimely death”, the Police writ of arrest stated.
The writ further noted that “furthermore, the Defendants reported to the police that the death of the deceased was caused by the stabbing done by an unknown man who intruded into the house; but police investigation established that said account is false and misleading”.
“This act of you defendants being Criminal, illegal, and unconstitutional and done with intent and purpose to take away the life of another individual the crimes of murder, criminal conspiracy and false reports to Law Enforcement Officials, the Defendants did do and commit.
Justice Scott, Getrude Newton, Rebecca Y. Wisner and Alice C. Johnson are spending their first night at the Monrovia Central Prison just a day after they were released from police custody by Criminal Court ‘C’ based on a Writ of Habeas Corpus filed by lawyers representing them. All eyes will be on the grounds of the Temple of Justice Friday, where unconfirm report says they might again appear before the Monrovia City Court.
