Foreign Minister Nyanti Receives Two Ambassadors-designate To Liberia, Ireland and Guinea

Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Sr., on Friday, July 12, 2024, received in audience two Ambassadors-Designate to Liberia.

It all happened when the incoming Ambassadors paid Courtesy Call on her at her Foreign Ministry Office on the Capitol Hill, Monrovia.

The Courtesy Calls by the Ambassadors-Designate come ahead of their separate meetings with Joseph Nyuma Boakai , Sr., President of Liberia, aimed at presenting their Letters of Credence to the Liberian leader.

In a significant diplomatic event, Ireland’s Ambassador-designate to Liberia, GĂ©rard Considine, presented copy of the letter of credence to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti.

The presentation ceremony, marked a notable step in strengthening the bilateral relations between Ireland and Liberia.

In his address, Ambassador-designate Considine reiterated Ireland’s unwavering commitment to supporting Liberia through principles of equality, cooperation, and inclusivity.

“Ireland is steadfast in its dedication to fostering and deepening cultural cooperation, development initiatives, and enhancing political and economic ties with Liberia,” stated Ambassador-designate Considine.

His remarks highlighted Ireland’s long-term vision to collaborate with Liberia in achieving mutual growth and prosperity.

Ambassador-designate Considine underscored the importance of multilateral support and solidarity.

“Our engagement with Liberia is built on a foundation of shared values and mutual respect.

We are committed to working together to address global challenges and promote sustainable development,” he added.

Receiving the copy of the letter of credence, Foreign Minister Nyanti, expressed her gratitude and optimism regarding the strengthened partnership between the two nations. “On behalf of President Boakai and the Government of Liberia, I congratulate Ambassador-designate Considine on his new role. We are confident in Ireland’s commitment to supporting Liberia across various sectors of our development,” Minister Nyanti remarked.

She at the same time acknowledged Ireland’s consistent support in numerous areas, especially in cultural and economic cooperation.

“The Government of Liberia appreciates the unflinching support from Ireland. This partnership is vital as we continue to work towards our national development goals,” she noted.

The Liberian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of international collaboration in achieving sustainable development and improving the quality of life for all Liberians. “With Ireland’s support, we are optimistic about making significant strides in areas such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure development,” Minister Nyanti added.

The diplomatic relations between Ireland and Liberia have a longstanding history of cooperation and mutual support. Ireland has been actively involved in various developmental projects in Liberia, focusing on education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment. The renewed commitment from Ambassador-designate Considine is expected to further enhance these initiatives and open new avenues for collaboration.

The presentation of the copy of the letter of credence was followed by a discussion on key areas of interest and future collaborations. Both parties expressed their determination to work closely on international platforms to address common challenges such as climate change, poverty alleviation, and peacebuilding.

Ambassador-designate Considine also highlighted the cultural ties between the two countries. “Cultural exchange is a cornerstone of our relationship. We believe that through sharing our rich cultural heritages, we can foster greater understanding and cooperation between our peoples,” he said.

The ceremony concluded with a mutual pledge to strengthen the bilateral ties and work together for the betterment of both nations.

The renewed commitment from both nations aims to further strengthen these ties and promote sustainable development.In a separate ceremony, Aboubacar Sylla, Ambassador-designate of Guinea, also officially presented his copy of the letter of credence to Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, on Friday.

During the ceremony, Ambassador-designate Sylla expressed his enthusiasm for his new role and his commitment to serving the interests of both Guinea and Liberia.

He emphasized the importance of fostering responsible partnerships aimed at mutual development and strengthening the bonds between the two neighboring countries.

“I am excited about my assignment in Liberia and the opportunity to serve as Ambassador,” said Ambassador-designate Sylla.

“Guinea remains dedicated to building strong, collaborative relationships with Liberia to ensure the growth and prosperity of our nations.

”In receiving copy of the letter of credence, Foreign Minister Nyanti extended congratulations on behalf of President Joseph Boakai. She praised Ambassador-designate Sylla for his dedication to promoting unity and cooperation between Guinea and Liberia.“On behalf of President Joseph Boakai and the people of Liberia, I congratulate you on your appointment,” said Minister Nyanti.

“We appreciate your commitment to fostering togetherness and look forward to working closely with you to advance our shared goals.

”The presentation of credentials marks the beginning of Ambassador-designate Sylla’s tenure in Liberia, where he will work to enhance diplomatic relations and pursue initiatives that benefit both countries.
