In response to President Joseph Boakai’s national call for a day of Fast and Prayer, Liberians at home and abroad united in heartfelt worship and intercession for their nation. A powerful service was held at Gates Agape Ministries in Oldest Congotown, organized by the Liberia Fellowship of Full Gospel Ministers & Churches, drawing together faith leaders and believers for a time of national reflection and spiritual renewal.
The event was led by Apostle Samuel M. Kollie, Jr. and Bishop George D. Harris, and attended by clergy, worshippers, and representatives from the Liberian diaspora. Among those who joined the service was Rev. Dr. Francis Tabla, Pastor of Ebenezer Community Church in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, who offered a moving segment of intercessory prayer on behalf of the Liberian diaspora.
“The prayers were strategic, the praise and worship inspiring, and the fellowship refreshing,” Rev. Tabla reflected. “There was a strong feeling of nationalism and a deep sense of patriotism throughout the service.” He also emphasized the growing spiritual connection between Liberians abroad and their homeland, noting how the love for Liberia was clearly evident during recent celebrations of the country’s 178th Independence in the United States.
Across Liberia, similar prayer services were held in churches and communities, creating a unified moment of national supplication for peace, healing, and continued progress.
In a touching personal testimony, Rev. Tabla recounted an emotional scene aboard Brussels Airlines flight #245 as it began its descent into Roberts International Airport. Liberian passengers spontaneously broke into the national anthem, with singing, clapping, and tears of solidarity echoing through the cabin. “It was a moment of pure unity and hope,” he said.
As Liberia continues to navigate challenges and opportunities, such moments of collective prayer and patriotic spirit serve as reminders of the strength and resilience of its people.
“May God continue to bless Liberia with love, peace, and unity,” Rev. Tabla concluded.
