The center for national documents and records agency has sharply reacted to media reports claiming that the Records Agency have a corruption web terming such as untrue.
According to the national archive, The allegation highlighted by Voice of Liberia BITZ and PIECES afternoon show Wednesday, February 12, 2025, is deceptive and malicious.
The CNDRA in its words re-emphasized that these unfavorable media rumors are malevolent plots of disinformation and misinformation designed to harm the National Archives’ of Liberia’s reputation.
The Records Agency further clarified that neither Gabriel N. Domah, the Deputy Director General for Administration, nor D. Nelson Bearngar, the Director General of CNDRA, has ever opened a private account for the agency with GT Bank Liberia as claimed in the local media.
Providing further clarity, the CNDRA operates a transitory account at GT Bank that was opened during the administration of former president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf years ago under a revenue-sharing agreement for the agency’s operational costs and it was approved by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) and Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) for the smooth operations of the National Archives.
The National Archives disclosed that Under the revenue-sharing agreement reached, 60% goes to LRA while 40% goes to the CNDRA consolidated account.
Additionally, the records agency pointed out that funds used from the agency’s consolidated account are reported to the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning on a quarterly basis, and it goes through various government spending systems, which is in accordance with the PFM and PPCC laws.
Meanwhile, the Center for National Documents and Records Agency urged the media to fact check information, varify properly before reporting to the public in order to avoid mis and disinformation and to as well play the professional role as watchdogs of the society.
