Unstoppable and aggressive ran has now rendered several residents in Monrovia and pass adjacent homeless.

In some communities due to the heavy down pour of rain, water entered bed rooms of dozens of people leaving them sleepless, homeless and restless at night including the day time.

On the main streets, cars , tricycles and motorcycles were coerced to drive in the deep water including pedestrians who had no option .

The heavy rain which continues up to the afternoon hours also prevented many people from getting out of their homes in order to go about their normal businesses.

Not only wet and densely populated communities but also the grounds of the Capitol Building was for the first time hit by the huge flooding.

According to some staffs at the Capitol Building, The water for the first time entered the offices of some lawmakers at the House of Representatives wing  and other places.

While other staffs unlike their regular work were compelled to wipe and sweep water in order to have a suitable and or comfortable place to sit and work.

With nearly three months to the end of the rainy season, it appears like more homes, public buildings and businesses including people will be affected by the huge flooding which normally comes with thunder and lightning.

Currently victims in affected communities of Clara Town, West Point, Vai Town, Doe Community, Piaty Town, Central Monrovia among many others are now appealing to the national government through the National Disaster Management Agency to come to their aid.

According to some of them, they have no where to go and may sleep in the open or public buildings, Schools and Churches as they especially their children risk cold, fever, malaria and other water borne diseases.

It can be recalled that the Environmental Protection Agency including the Public Works Ministry have attributed huge flooded especially in residential areas to poor drainage system, the building of houses on the wetlands and alleys as well as the blocking of the drainage normally used as dumbsites by the same residents, many of whom are victims of such natural situations.

Meanwhile, as the heavy rains continue the hope of the affected people remains uncertain.
