Former President George Weah has warned the Unity Party led Government headed by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai that their alleged action to politicize Justice will be Resisted and Resisted Strongly.

Speaking to reporters at the headquarters of the Coalition for Democratic Change in Congo Town on WednesdayJuly 31, 2024, the political leader of the main opposition CDC said his party will use all legal and political means at their disposal to resist such move to weaponized the Country’s Judicial system to its selfish advantage.

The CDC flag bearer told reporters that the UP government in their execution of civil and evil plan allegedly choose to ignore legal and constitutional reliance and available evidence but to pursue reckless measures.

He cautioned and reminded the ruling Unity Party that such situation normally brings about disorder and confusion in Liberia’s recent history.

According to him, the National Security laws of the Country clearly stipulates measures that must be taken to safeguard the public.

The Former Liberian leader bragged that his political institution remains proud of its record to preserve the peace and Security of the Country even during the COVID-19 global pandemic.

“I am also particularly proud of my record as Former President for my unwavering respect for peace and the rule of Law of the Country “, he added.

Speaking on other issues, the CDC political leader stated that his former administration fought relentlessly against corruption evidence of granting the Liberia Anti Corruption Commission a direct prosecutorial power, this he said was critical to the fight against corruption.

“To sustained this fight, we should not allow anyone to erode the gains made “, he noted.

Mr. Weah at the same time urged the Boakai’s administration in its drive to fight corruption effectively to ensure that the LACC must treat all audit reports from the GAC equally without being selective , something he pointed out will ensure fairness and transparency in the process.

“Scaping previous audit reports and selecting only officials from my administration under my fight against corruption, the Liberian people see such as weaponizing the LACC to witch-hunt my administration “, he reemphasized.

Speaking more , he stressed that he loves his Country and cherished peace evidence of his advocacy for a seize fire leading to disarmenment effort as well as his most recent move to accept the election results in the absence of official pronouncement by the National Elections Commission.

“You all can attest my selfless and unwavering commitment to the peace and stability of our Country “, he boasted.

Sadly, he indicated that it seems that the Boakai’s administration is allegedly intepretating his commitment to peace and stability of the Country as his weakness thereby allegedly keen on disturbing the peace by weaponizing key government functioneries to witch-hunt officials of the past government.

Former President Weah told the media that UP Administration’s act to exploit the Country’s legal system risk chaos something he said also tells you to what extend some politicians are willing to go just to maintain power.

However, he disclosed that the CDC as former ruling establishment did not thread such path when it successfully maintained the peace and stability of the Country for the last six years.

According to him, some confidant of President Boakai are allegedly careless about the consequences of their action only because, in his words of their narrow political interest.

At the same time , the CDC political leader told the media that the move by the current administration was among other things meant to allegedly divert the public attention from lingering economic crisis facing the nation as well as the uncovering of government’s use of public funds from the Central Bank of Liberia to allegedly bill-out a private bank which he also alleged financed the campaign of the Unity Party.

” It also comes against several instances of disregard against the Country’s procurement laws thereby committing the Country into hundreds of millions of dollars to broad day light robbery under the disguise of road rehabilitation under the glaring eyes of corruption “, he noted.

Suddenly, he pointed out that official who once allegedly gained notariry for public theft now wants the CDC to believe that they have transformed to referees over governance.

The CDC he said in the coming days will have series of meetings with its partisans and supporters relative to the alleged dangerous witch-hunt by the ruling establishment, The Unity Party.

” We called on other members of the opposition to join us to help preserve our political fight”, he noted.

Former President Weah assured his partisans that he will continue to engage with the regional body, ECOWAS- LEADERS whose Countries have given Liberia their blood and tears to the attainment and sustainability of peace and security in Liberia while notifying other international partners and organizations of the Unity Party’s alleged action to capture the political plan in their favor.

CDC he maintained remains a party of rule of law stating that the people enjoy such peace for about twenty years as such they deserve said perpetual peace and stability.

“The people must resist any attempt by the Boakai’s administration to disturb our hard earned peace “, Weah re-emphasized.

The CDC, former President Weah described the indictments of four former officials as a clear political move intended to target CDCians , the widest opposition community.

Those detained, he disclosed are all members of the National Security Council.

The action without any indictment by a grand juror, former President Weah claimed is unfair and a complete weaponizing of the Judiciary system.

He also stated that the alleged action by the Boakai’s administration is an attempt to undermine the rule of law and security of the State.

Outlining some of the claimed deliberate and open act carryout by the UP’s administration as alleged harrasement and removal of civil servants from the payroll with their focus purely on party lines, the excessive use of force against peaceful citizens resulting into deaths and the non persecution of election death that occurred on camera.

Others are: the alleged total disregard for tenure positions and or laws of the Country in the face of the Supreme Court ruling .

Additionally, he named the broad day violence of the procurement laws of the Country, disregard and denial of benefits for duly commissioned foreign service officers among others.
