Monrovia: The Mother of Jessica Lloyd madam Cynthia Lloyd is calling on the international justice institutions and the United States of America to come to her aid following an attempted Murder of her daughter by an American citizen, Lucas K. Richard in September of 2023 who has reportedly been freed by the court in Monrovia.

Madam Cynthia Lloyd speaking to News men said she has lost hope in the Liberian judiciary system after being asked by lawyers to sign a court document in order to receive $20, 000 USD to allow her abandoned the involving her daughter, Jessica Lloyd and her alleged husband Lucas K. Richard.

It can be recalled that Jessica Lloyd narrowly escaped a gruesome attack by Lucas Richards after she was lured into a secluded area under the false pretence of changing a flat tyre on September 14 in Liberia. However, just moments later she was allegedly attacked by her husband with a metal tool as he attempted to slit her throat.

Fortunately, a bystander stepped in and saved her life, but in her first interview since the horrific attack, Jessica confessed there were signs that Lucas was up to something sinister.
“While we were going, we saw a cemetery and he suggested that we get down and see the graves. He said that’s what they do in America, but I told him no. Later he stopped the car and said one of the tires had a problem and he pulled the irons and called me to help him.

“While helping him, he said there was dirt on my head, and he loosened my hair to take away the dirt. Then he hit me with the iron very hard. I thought it was the tire that burst, but I fell and while attempting to wake up, he took the knife and began to slaughter me. But it looks like the boy has been watching us and he saw him hitting the iron on my head. And he came to my rescue.”
The hero bystander, only identified as Ernest, spoke to Freedom TV who confirmed Jessica’s version of events as he witnessed Lucas attacking her with a metal object and attempting to slit her throat.

He said: “I saw the white man hit the girl on the hide and he bent over her and started slaughtering her. That’s when I rushed there… I stopped the Kekeh (tricycle) and asked the rider to take her to the hospital. And I chartered kekeh to run after him.”

Meanwhile Victim Jessica Llyod’s attempted murderer Lucas Richard an American missionary has been jailed by Magistrate John Griggs of the Bushrod Island Magisterial Court.

The Liberia National Police on Tuesday September, 19,2023, forwarded defendant Richard for his involvement in an alleged attempt to murder Jessica Lloyd a residence of Dwahn Town Community, Barnersville.

The incident occurred at Palm Farm Community, Dixville on September 14, 2023, at 400, Pm, and defendant Richard was acquainted with his constitutional rights, investigated, and subsequently charged with the alleged crime of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder and Aggravated Assault.

Defendant Richard before the incident visited the home of victim Llyod’s family remained there for some time and took the victim out of said residence under the pretense that he was going to console her for the removal of her pregnancy. And left One Hundred Fifty United States Dollars( US$150.00 ) with the family of Jessica
But contrary, defendant Richard was caught within the Palm Farm community, Dixville, precisely closer to Early Memorial School where he tried killing victim Llyod by inflicting a wound at the back of her head and using a knife to slash a little portion of the front part of her neck.

During the investigation witness Ernest Philips a motorbike rider told investigators that he initially spotted defendant Richard perpetuating said actions before alarming for assistance, while at the same time, victim Llyod also confirmed that she saw defendant Richard with a knife on Thursday, September 14, 2023, when they left her house and during the occasion, he took her to the bush pretending that he could be attacked by a snake and at another point, he had seen an animal in the bush which he wanted her to see but she refused to go closer to him because she was afraid.

The court record said, that during the stay at the victim’s house defendant Richard told her that there was no problem with his white land cruiser car which he was driving on the day of the incident, the investigation wonders why defendant Richard continued to say there was a problem on one of the tires for which he was trying to repair where he had told the victim, the was no problem with the tires

Defendant Richard denied being the one who inflicted wounds on Jessica instead, he claimed it was a moving motorbike rider who hit the victim with his bike and subsequently raised the alarm that he (defendant Richard) was the one trying to kill the victim Llyod.

Police investigation said during their relationship, she got impregnated but the pregnancy was aborted when defendant Lucas Richard administered some tablets and an injection. She said after they visited some counties namely; Margibi, Nimba, Montserrado, and Grand Cape Mount for Bible outreach for three months it was the time she got pregnant.

The L N P investigation revealed that while victim Llyod and her brother were attending the Y.W.A.N. Bible Mission, located alongside the Roberts Field Highway, defendant Richard who was teaching at the said institution started a love relationship and they both got married traditionally at the residence of the Llyod family Barnesville.

Defendant Richard and victim Jessica Llyod based on their act some of the missionaries running the Y.W.A, N. Mission allegedly got the privilege of concern between defendant and victim Llyod for which there is an alleged ongoing probe for which victim Jessica Llyod was not allowed to graduate during the graduation ceremony of the class which she was part of.
Madam Cynthia Llyod, mother of victim Jessica Lolyod confirmed that her daughter was denied graduation by the Mission because of an ongoing probe concerning her and suspect Lucas Richard’s love relationship
Richard also denied ever having a direct involvement in the incident which led to victim Jessica Lloyd sustaining a deep laceration on her throat.
