Whenever poor academic performance in Liberia today is assertive, people no longer focus on modern facilities but on the students’ failure to solve common academic problems including mathematics or science problems among which are poor reading and writing skills, the fundamental basis of literacy.
In recent times, people listening to the radio and reading the newspapers or articles written by others become annoy by poor pronunciation, grammatical construction, and misspelled words.
As a result of this and how to find solutions, Dr. Clarence K. Moniba committed himself to solving some of the major challenges being faced in the Liberian educational sector, particularly in Grand Geddeh County.
As part of his commitment, he has paid for over one hundred students’ WASSCE tutorial fees at the Zwedru Multilateral School.
The total amount is placed at a little over LD $ 200,000
According to him, his mission is to educate and empower Liberian children through access to healthcare, provide scholarships, school supplies, and educational materials for middle and high school students in Liberia as well as higher education throughout the country.
He has further promised to recondition chalk boards at the school.
Dr. Moniba at the same time offered scholarships to all of the best performing students through his Moniba Foundation and promised to continue supporting them.
Meanwhile, the students in an interview lauded Presidential Candidate Dr. Moniba for his timely intervention in their education.
“To be honest, many of us couldn’t afford the fees, we have blackboards that have turned white, to the extent that we can’t see the writing on the board.
You’re a true leader and mentor” the student representative said.
