-Bong Citizens Assure Weah-Taylor’s Reelection

As vice President Jewel Howard Taylor concludes her tour in Bong county, thousands of citizens in the county have reassured their support to Madam Taylor and the Coalition for Democratic Change; promising to continue to stand with her in all of her political endeavors.

Madam Taylor sits on the ticket of the CDC as a vice running mate to incumbent President George M. Weah in the October polls for the second time in her political career.

“Jewel is our own, we can’t take our hands from in front of us and put it in front of a different person” these are the exact words of the enthusiastic Bongese.

According to them, politic is interest and number “our interest is Jewel and Bong County has the number as the third most populated county so why you think we should support another person when our own Daughter is in the race? Look, we will support Jewel until she resigns from Polities” Stephen Zazay, a community Leader in Gbarnsue community told Newsmen

Stephen said Madam Taylor has done much and deserves to be in the leadership of the country as she continues to stride for the benefit of the Liberian people.

Our Bong County Correspondent describes the reception from the Vice President’s tour as “very exceptional” , maintaining that there is a very high possibility of the VP overwhelmingly winning Bong County over to the CDC.

Recently in Suakoko, thousands of citizens reaffirm their commitment to supporting the CDC for the sake of Jewel who they said has helped to educate their children over the years.

“The South Easterners will support Weah because where he comes from, the Lofa county people may support Joseph Boakai because he hails from there so why can’t we support our own? Felecia Wonyeah said.

“We are not just supporting her because she comes from here but are you also not seeing the level of work she is doing? This is a woman who has abandoned her personal interest, she doesn’t care about having a mansion for herself nor does she care about riding the latest car but there you have it, she is educating our children across Liberia and further supporting rural women. So what else do we want to see before joining our precious Jewel team?

Our Correspondent says there are people who have already started mobilizing support for the Vice President even though they said they have not gotten any money to do so.

“We do not need to get money before we can put our women group together for  Jewel Howard Taylor, the fact that she is doing well and the entire country is benefiting, we think it is good for us to use our own money to organize people for her” Sarah Kwenah said via telephone on a local radio program on Friday, July 14.

Zota is the home of Mr. Emmanuel Urey Yarkpawolo, the vice running mate to Cllr. Tiawon S. Gongloe of the Liberia’s People Party (LPP).

“We have two people from Bong but we know that one will not even come 4th so it is better for us not to waste our votes. We will stand for Jewel at any time and anywhere. She adds.

During a one hour media briefing at the end of her tour, VP Taylor thanked the Bong County citizens for their commitment and promised to keep working for them.

She described as “Politrick”, a statement believed to have been made by Unity Party vice standard Bearer, Jeremiah Kpahn Koon that the CDC government has not done much for phebe hospital.

“How can someone even say that when this government has been doing so much for Phebe hospital? Phebe is a private hospital but yet, our government is paying $90 percent of its budget. Bus is an ordinary thing because if we can pay such huge money to Phebe every year, I am sure you should know  the truth as it stands. She added.
