The 5th Judiciary Circuit Court in Robertsport City, Grand Cape Mount has sentenced a 37 year old man identified as John Sambola to life Imprisonment for rapping a 13 year old girl.
According to the court, the Defendant abused the 13 year old girl in the Kru town community in Robertsport City.
Speaking to KMTV, The Chief Of Clerk at the Court, said, the incident occurred on Sunday October 2, 2022 at about 7pm.
He told our reporter, that his office needs media attention in order to keep the public and citizens informed on issue relating crimes.
He at the same time Called on the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, the Grand Cape Mount Legislative Caucus and other Human right organizations to join hands in ensuing justice for Liberian women and children.
He maintained, that their goal is for justice to prevail, as it would serve as a deterrence for would be perpetrators.
Following arguments by both the state and public defenders, the Trial Jurors handed down a guilty verdict, after the public defenders failed to provide witnesses. The trial was presided over by Ousman O. Feika, Resident Judge of Grand Cape Mount County.
Meanwhile, defendant Sambola has been taken to the Robertsport Central Prison, where he will serve his sentence.
